A dream come true

From a young age, Zacharias Batzakas had a passion for cooking, often experimenting in his mother’s kitchen with the dream of one day opening his own restaurant. In 2018, at just 24 years old, he began his culinary journey with Akrotiri, nestled in the picturesque port of Pollonia.

His love for quality food and unwavering dedication quickly made Akrotiri a standout dining spot on Milos.

Five years after opening, Akrotiri earned its first major award: the “Greek Taste Beyond Borders” organization honored it with the Gold Award for Authentic Greek Taste, naming it a member of the Global Ambassadors of Gastronomy.

Today, Akrotiri is one of Milos’ most renowned restaurants, captivating guests with its authentic flavors rooted in Greek culinary tradition. It highlights time-honored recipes passed down through generations, prepared with the island’s freshest ingredients—most of them organic and homegrown.
