Akrotiri Milos

Our Philosophy

Our goal was simple: to share the authentic flavors of Greece with those who visit Milos, using traditional recipes and local ingredients—many of them organic and from our own garden. Our cheeses are sourced from small, local producers on the island.

The warm restaurant ambiance, enriched by timeless Greek folk music, brings your dining experience to life.

Come taste Greece at its purest—simple, honest, and made with heart.

Because what’s truly authentic is what stays with you.

Akrotiri Our Garden

Our Garden

At Akrotiri, we’re committed to using only the freshest ingredients—so we created our own garden on the north side of Milos, just outside Pollonia. There, we grow the vegetables and herbs that shape our menu, in tune with the seasons and nature’s own pace.
Our produce is organic, grown without pesticides. When our harvest isn’t enough to meet the restaurant’s needs, we turn to trusted local suppliers on the island.

Appetizers

Start your meal with favorites like our traditional grandmother’s “tiropitari”: handmade phyllo filled with feta cheese, drizzled with local thyme honey, and sprinkled with white and black sesame. Or try the classic mom’s “keftedes”, traditional Greek meatballs made with the owner’s mother’s recipe and fresh spearmint. Our Mount Athos-style “agioritiki” eggplant salad (spread) is another must-try.
For a seafood meze, don’t miss the grilled sun-dried octopus: a perfect match for a glass of ouzo.

Traditional Greek cooked dishes

From our home-style cooked dishes, don’t miss the moussaka, a true Greek classic, prepared just the way it’s made in homes across the country. Our “kleftiko” features tender, free-range local lamb or goat, slow-baked in parchment with potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, rosemary, and kefalotyri cheese. And then there’s our gemista: locally grown tomatoes filled with rice, pine nuts, raisins, and fresh herbs, just like they’ve been made for generations in Cycladic kitchens.

Fresh Fish and Seafood

We handpick the freshest fish and seafood each day, working closely with local fishermen to bring you the best of what the season offers. We highly recommend trying our grilled fresh fish: seasonal catches might include red porgy (fagri), white seabream (sargos), pandoras (lithrinia), scorpionfish (skorpina), dusky grouper (rofos), white grouper (sfyrida), golden grouper* (stira), and more. We catch our own squid in winter, from November to February. Want to pick your own fish? Just ask—we’d be happy to show you the day’s catch and weigh it right there for you.

Grilled Meats

Grill fans will enjoy our handmade kontosuvli, marinated and slow-grilled—choose between pork or chicken. Also on the grill: handmade beef burger patties, traditional Mykonos sausage, and Greek-style pork belly slices.
